In this week’s box:
- arugula
- kale
- red mustard greens
- we thought that these spicy greens would never end – but they’re just starting to flower. we think they’ve gotten even spicier! sautée them rather than eating raw to tone them down (unless you’re a fan of the fire!)
- heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes & tomatillos
- carrots
- dried herb blend: calendula, blue cornflower & damask rose
- you can steep this dried herb blend as a tea or infuse it in a carrier oil of your choice (olive oil, sweet almond oil, etc) to use externally as a revitalizing skin oil. calendula is a powerful herbal ally, especially with the changing of seasons, for its cleansing effect on the lymphatic system and as an immune stimulant. a wound healer, it is used widely in cosmetics for its nourishing effects on the skin. for more info, check out this post.
- herb bundle: basil, dill flower, marjoram
- cut flowers: nigella, cornflower, statice
